The Pandemic Hit. Right around the second birthday of Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale, the pandemic hit. The City of Fort Lauderdale began its response to the COVID-19 pandemic to help with public health and safety. This meant business restrictions were being put into place, and the amount of people coming into the store was reduced drastically. The downtown district that brought us ample foot traffic slowed down, then slowed down some more, and then felt all but completely stopped. Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale continued to offer mobile and pick up orders. But this was a drastic change to our once bustling business. With all the momentum we had going for us, we kept on going strong. Our amazing employees kept chugging along, and we were so happy with how we were hanging in there. As time went on, foot traffic steadily declined, and business after business closed. We wondered if ours was next. It was devastating to see so many shops go out of business near Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale. The downtown district where we were located took a major hit. Yet still, we had enough momentum to keep us in business. We were honored to be able to provide our customers with groceries and essentials from Vegan Fine Foods. Vegan Fine Café started taking phone and app orders. It helped us realize how essential our community is to us. You may have read in the news that around this time, there was some vandalism to the Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale location. This was unfortunate, and it didn’t help matters. But all of these issues paled in comparison to the health, safety, and wellness of our customers, staff, and the general public. Pivot! Despite the challenge of weathering the pandemic, we kept our eye on the prize. Not only was our business still open well into 2021, but we hadn’t lost sight of our plan to open Vegan Fine Foods Franchise locations. With the unexpected changes from the pandemic, we took a moment to look at our options. We wanted to target the fastest and most effective way to continue to thrive and grow. The Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale location had lost lots of foot traffic business. But our online business—including taking orders for Vegan Fine Café—was going stronger than ever. And our Vegan Fine Body line was still flourishing. So what now? Then we got a brilliant idea. We decided to make 3 major moves. First, we opened a standalone Vegan Fine Body location in Boca Raton, Florida. The grand opening was in summer of 2021. I’m happy to report that it’s open and flourishing. Second, with the decrease in in-person business due to the pandemic, we decided to relocate our flagship store. We closed the Vegan Fine Foods Fort Lauderdale location in summer of 2021, and are looking for our new flagship location as we speak. The third part is the fun part. HERE’S THE FUN NEWS: After watching our growth in online business, we decided to launch an online store at veganfinefoods.com! It’ll be live at the end of 2021—just in time for the holidays. So stay tuned.

Yes, everything we sell is vegan. We will never offer any product that contains animal-based ingredients or that have been tested on animals. All of us working at Vegan Fine Foods are passionate vegans. We will not sell anything that does not conform to vegan standards.
Although all of our products are 100% vegan, many are made in facilities that do handle some allergens, such as nuts, dairy, gluten or other such things. If you have serious allergies to common allergens, we do not recommend purchasing items without contacting the brand to find out the details of the product and how it is produced.
This is a very common question. The giant online mega-stores like Amazon (Whole Foods, which is part of Amazon), EBay, Walmart, have given the impression that shipping is free or inexpensive because they seem to offer "free shipping" for many or most of their orders. That is not the case. All online retailers have to pay for shipping. It's just that the mega-retailers have extremely low costs on incredibly large volume, so they are able to build those shipping costs into the price of the product. Smaller online retailers cannot compete with the larger ones on price. We have to out-compete them on other factors. We will continue to look for ways to offer competitive prices on all products we sell, along with the service of getting those products to all our customers.
